Children’s Holiday Class

  In 2019, our theme for the children’s classes will be ‘how to use free patterns from the Internet’. We will start by making ‘money bags’ with free patterns from Kelly Fletcher and Annie Belcher. Discovering Hardanger – Day 1

March 16 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm

This is a two-day class to be held on Saturday 16 March (Day 1) and Saturday 30 March (Day 2). Students will focus on the various basic techniques used in Hardanger Embroidery – such as gridding preparation, satin stitch, kloster blocks and buttonhole edging. On the second day, students will delve into needleweaving including woven bars and dove’s eyes. Students will gain the knowledge to interpret and adapt commercial patterns. Alison Snepp will be teaching two workshops in April 2019 in the Guild rooms: Couturier’s Chatelaine Workshop and Small Mamluk Purse Workshop  This will be the last time Alison visits as a tutor as she has decided 2019 will be her final year.
