Elizabethan Blackwork Sampler

This project, an amazing sampler of black and gold work, is inspired by an Elizabethan sleeve. It is worked on 36-count Antique White linen.  The size of the overall completed Blackwork design is 27cm x 22cm. The linen and silk thread will be available from the tutor.  If wished, the design can be enlarged, modified, or worked on linen using a different thread count. World Embroidery Day was first celebrated in 2011, in Vismarlőv, Sweden. It was spearheaded by a local group of Broderiakademin (Sweden’s Embroidery Guild), which took the initiative to plan and create a special day to celebrate embroidery. That day, now called World Embroidery Day, is 30 July. The Embroiderers’ Guild, Queensland will celebrate it this year on 28 July. Crewel Work – Australian wildflowers – Day 1

  This is a two-day class to be held on Saturday 3 August (Day 1) and Saturday 24 August (Day 2).  Students will work traditional crewel stiches on linen.
