Merezhka Necessaire
This one-day class will introduce students to the art of Merezhka drawn thread embroidery from the Ukraine. Students will explore basic Ukrainian techniques – such as hemstitching (prutyk), tovmach stars, withdrawing threads and Merezhka (needleweaving). Students will commence the embroidery for the necessaire (11cm x 8cm) during class and there is some additional sewing, which will be required to complete the item.
