Ukrainian Whitework Biscornu

This is a two-day class to be held on Tuesday 3 March (Day 1) and Tuesday 10 March (Day 2) and will focus on a biscornu, which is designed to be an initial exploration of Ukrainian Whitework embroidery.  It will encompass counted thread embroidery techniques from several regions of the Ukraine including flat stitch, pulled fabric stitches, such as round and buttonhole eyelets, and cut work known as myreshka.    The finished size is approximately 11.5 cm x 11.5 cm…

Thread Painting – Gum leaves with blossoms

Elizabethan embroidery, as we know it today, is predominantly a decorative style of embroidery, which employs the extravagant use of colour, beads, metallic threads and a variety of stiches. Hardanger Bon Bon Pincushion
