Schwalm whitework – “Hidden delights”

"Hidden Delights" features many traditional techniques used in Schwalm embroidery with a central heart hiding a bird settled amidst flowers, stems and leaves. This linen table centre is finished with a hemmed Schwalm peahole edge. Schwalm whitework embroidery is a regional embroidery originating in the Hesse area along the Schwalm River in Germany. Children’s Holiday Class

Gone to the Dogs - hat boxes with dogs on their lids This is a 2-day class, from 9:30am until 2:30pm on: 4th July 2017 and 6th July 2017 Embroider a lid for a hat box and learn lots of different stiches.  Different designs to choose from. Beginner’s Drawn Thread

This is a class to introduce you to the magic of Drawn Thread work. The class begins with instruction to correctly withdraw and reweave threads - internal selvedges.  A number of stitches will be taught - two versions of Hemstitch, 2 other types of hemming and one row with twisted threads. Hems and Hemstitching Class

In this class, you will learn how to perfect wide and narrow mitred hems, and a variety of hem stitches to complete embroidery with charm. As a bonus, you will be given a weekend project kit. This kit allows you to practise the stitches learnt in class and to make up a little needle roll from a sampler of stitches to keep.
