Drawn Thread Sampler – Day 1

  This is a two-day class on Sunday 3 March (Day 1) and Sunday 24 March 2019 (Day 2). You will be introduced to the magic of Drawn Thread work and learn how to correctly withdraw and reweave threads (internal selvedges).  Two versions of hem stitch are taught together with two other types of hemming and one row with twisted threads. Discovering Hardanger – Day 1

This is a two-day class to be held on Saturday 16 March (Day 1) and Saturday 30 March (Day 2). Students will focus on the various basic techniques used in Hardanger Embroidery – such as gridding preparation, satin stitch, kloster blocks and buttonhole edging. On the second day, students will delve into needleweaving including woven bars and dove’s eyes. Students will gain the knowledge to interpret and adapt commercial patterns.
