Sweet Daisy Delight sachet
Sunday, April 8, 2018 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm

‘Sweet Daisy Delight’ features traditional techniques used in Schwalm embroidery to introduce embroiderers to taste this technique. Schwalm whitework embroidery is a regional embroidery originating in the Hesse area along the Schwalm River in Germany. It was embroidered on pillowcases, napery, sheets, aprons, cuffs, and clothes and incorporates surface stitches, pulled thread work, drawn thread work and needle weaving. Design elements were based on elements including the sun, hearts, pine cones, flowers, tendrils, leaves, birds, tulips and leaves.
