Exploring more stitches
Saturday, April 22, 2017 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm
This class is an extension of the free Embroidery Basics class offered to new members and part of the Guild’s Essential Embroidery Skills course.
This delightful design was inspired by a copse of four trees, which the Tutor sketched and then expanded on to construct a creative pattern. The project can be stitched a number of ways (including with full detail as shown here, to stitching only the four original trees, or to using a different colour palette). The Tutor will outline the options for students at the start of the class. There is sure to be one to suit everyone’s tastes and abilities. If opting for a colour palette different to that shown, bring your own threads.
Tutor: Carolyn Foley
Cost: $60 (members); $80 (non-members)
Kit: A kit is available for $35 (to be paid on the day of the class). The kit includes a pre‑prepared piece of linen, threads that are hard to obtain (e.g. those from Stef Francis in the UK) and a selection of other threads sufficient to stitch the four basic trees.
To register: Please register no later than a week before the class date, to allow sufficient time for kit assembly. Complete the class registration form on the Guild website or contact:
firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 3252 8629 for details.
