Drawn Thread – “Beginner’s Sampler”
August 27 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm
This is a class to introduce you to the magic of Drawn Thread work. The class begins with instruction to correctly withdraw and reweave threads – internal selvedges. A number of stitches will be taught – two versions of Hemstitch, 2 other types of hemming and one row with twisted threads.
The student will also learn basic Coral Knot, the essential stitch of Drawn Thread work. A simple run is completed, followed by a more complex run. How to begin and end Drawn Thread work is taught and the piece is completed with 4 sided stitch and satin stitches.
The student can then go on to more complex Drawn Thread work. This sampler could be made into a needle case, be framed or fitted on to a box lid.
