Greek Style Reticella
May 29 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm
This 2-day class will be held on Saturday 29 May and Sunday 30 May 2021 and explores Greek style Reticella, which is based upon the early geometric Italian Reticella. It is well documented that Reticella was introduced to the Greek islands during the Venetian occupation from 1489-1571AD, however, by this time the Venetians had been trading for at least 500 years in the Levant. The thread-based designs are worked upon a grid, with the embroidery mostly worked in buttonhole stitch with the addition of knotted picots.
Attendance on 29 May (Day 1) is essential in order to attend Day 2 on 30 May 2021.
