Class registration forms are available in the newsletter, on the web and at the guild rooms.
Classes marked with an asterisk (*) are Embroidery Techniques classes, although any member may register for them.
A pre-day is a necessary time when participants and tutor will discuss specific details of the class proper and/or make prior preparations for it. The cost of the pre-day is included in the class fee.
Guild classes require a minimum of four (4) participants and usually have a maximum of eight (8), with places being given to the first eight to pay their full fees. Others registering will go on a waiting list. A popular guild class may necessitate the formation of another similar one.
The Guild reserves the right to cancel classes if the numbers are insufficient. Members who have booked will be notified as soon as possible and fees refunded or transferred to another class.
Registration for guild classes:
Classes up to $50.00 - payment in full with registration form
Classes over $50.00 - $50.00 with registration form, the balance paid two weeks prior to the date of the class.
Registration for classes conducted by visiting tutors:
Payment in full with registration form.
An early-bird discount of 10% of the advertised fee for a class will apply up to the date indicated in the newsletter.
Refunds for guild classes:
A registration cancelled by a participant up to two weeks prior to the start of a class will incur a cancellation fee of $10.00 or 10% of the class registration (whichever is greater), plus the cost of any kit already received.
If cancellation by a participant occurs inside two (2) weeks prior to commencement, any refund will be at the discretion of the Management Committee.
Refunds for classes conducted by visiting tutors:
Owing to the specific nature of these classes, 50% of the full registration fee plus cost of any kit already received will be forfeited should a participant cancel up to four weeks prior to the commencement of a class.
No refund will be made inside the four weeks, unless the class attains full enrolment. If it does, the conditions outlined in Clause 9(a) above will apply.
Participants in all classes will be provided with a list of requirements, cost of kit and any other information necessary for that class, e.g. skill prerequisites. Kits are paid for at the beginning of the class directly to the tutor.
A class in progress is not to be visited by other members without permission from the tutor.
Members are reminded that a tutor’s class notes and design are the intellectual property of that tutor and are automatically covered by Australian copyright laws. Class participants will be required to sign a Class Sign-on Sheet acknowledging these laws.
Copyright laws may also apply to the photographing of a tutor’s articles. No photography is permitted without the tutor’s permission.
